# Some members can't use eara's commands

If eara's commands don't show up for some people in your server, or they get a
message saying they can't use them, it's a permission setting, not a bug. There
are two places to fix it.

## Confirm it's a permission problem

Ask the person to run `/ping`.

- If `/ping` works but `/play` doesn't, eara is online for them and a
  permission is blocking that command. Continue below.
- If `/ping` doesn't work either, see
  [eara is offline or not responding](/help-center/eara-is-offline) instead.

## Check the "Use Application Commands" permission

Their roles need the **Use Application Commands** permission. Check it in two
places:

1. The role itself.
2. The channel where they use eara. A channel override can remove the
   permission even when the role has it.

## Check eara's integration settings

Discord keeps a separate set of per-app command permissions, which can block a
command even when regular permissions allow it.

1. Right-click **eara** in the member list or a voice channel, or right-click one of its
   messages.
2. Choose **Apps → Manage Server Integration**.
3. Review the role and channel rules on that page.

> that role, and leave the other commands open to everyone.
